Greece has officially defaulted on its €1.6bn debt repayment to the IMF, making it the first ever developed economy not to pay back the IMF, The Telegraph reports.

The main US equity averages are now being called to start the day with moderately strong gains following the release of upbeat economic indicators, before the start of the session, and ahead of speeches by at least two Fed policymakers - later in the day.

Policymakers in the States still remained divided over their views on easy money policies, writes USA Today. Citing the earlier-than-expected minutes from the latest meeting of the Federal Open Market Committee, the paper reports some members wanted to move faster towards ending quantitative easing on concerns over “financial imbalances”.

Canadian aircraft builder Bombardier Inc. Tuesday signed its largest-ever deal, potentially worth more than 7.8 billion dollars, with VistaJet, a privately owned corporate-jet charter company. The agreement—which eclipses the recent 7.3 billion-dollar one between Bombardier and NetJets, the business jet charter unit of Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway Inc. — includes firm orders for 56 of Bombardier's Global jets and options for a further 86. The firm order alone is worth about 3.1 billion dollars. [The Wall Street Journal]
